School Swimming Information at Rye Leisure Centre

Welcome to School Swimming with LAC Training at Rye Leisure Centre. 

This information pack will help your staff and pupils prepare for their swimming lessons and ensure a smooth, safe and enjoyable experience.

Before Your First Session

Please complete the following steps before your first visit:

1. Send Your Swimmer Register

Email a full register of all pupils attending swimming lessons to: info@lactraining.co.uk

2. Provide Medical Information

Highlight any medical, behavioural, or SEND information we need to be aware of while pupils are participating in swimming lessons.

3. Prepare Your Pupils

Please familiarise pupils with the expectations listed in this information. We have also provided a video, below, that can be shown in class before their first visit or a link can be found here.

Important Reminders for Your Visit

1. Moving Around the Leisure Centre

Pupils must remain quiet and respectful when walking through the Leisure Centre, as other activities will be taking place.

2. Changing Village Etiquette

The changing village contains individual cubicles.

Pupils must not leave belongings inside cubicles during their lesson.

Lockers are provided for safe storage of clothing and personal items.

3. Meeting Your Swimming Teacher

Once pupils are changed, a member of the LAC Training team will meet you and lead you safely to poolside.

What Pupils Should Wear/Bring

Towel

Suitable swimwear for a swimming lesson

Goggles (optional, if required)

Swimming hat (recommended for long hair)

Our Expectations During Lessons

To ensure safety and high‑quality learning:

• Pupils must listen carefully to Swimming Teachers, Leisure Centre staff, and School Teachers.
• Pupils should keep their heads above the water when waiting.
• Pupils must hold on to the poolside when waiting for instructions.
